Laurent Masset began his career in 1994 at PIAS in Paris, running their college radio promotions department and then their dance vinyl distribution arm. In 1995, he joined F Communications, a newly founded french electronic label, taking a key role in driving electronic music to the masses with bands like St Germain or Laurent Garnier. In 1999, he moved to the USA and worked for dance labels (Statra, Clairaudience) as well as hip-hop ones (Decon). In 2005, he set up Le Plan Recordings to help independent European artists navigate the North American market. Through Le Plan he has released albums from Wax Tailor, Emilie Simon, Jay-Jay Johanson, Joon Moon and Caravan Palace,
Over his career, Laurent has records records that have won 4 Victoires de la Musique awards, 1 MTV European Awards, 12 platimum and Gold records. He released the best selling independent single ever with Mr. Oizo’s “Flat Beat” and is about to land his first US Gold Record for the single “Lone Digger” by Caravan Palace.
